Wisconsin's state fish hatcheries raised and distributed more than 140,000 muskellunge fingerlings for stocking in Wisconsin waters this fall, which was nearly 40,000 more than had been requested by local fisheries biologists around the state. Due to this year's excellent production, biologists were able to stock muskellunge fingerlings in waters that weren't scheduled to be stocked until next year and many of the state's larger muskellunge waters were stocked with more fish than they normally receive.
